In this topic, you will learn, how to create a Dataset.
- Run a query for the selected table.
- A Dataset is created from the Results tab.
- Click the Save as Dataset option beside the Download icon.
- A Save Dataset pop-up window is displayed.
- Enter the Name, Tags, Category (drop-down list appears), and Description text fields.
Note: The Project text field is auto-populated with the Project name that cannot be changed.
- Click the Next button to save the Dataset.
- The Save Dataset pop-up window is updated with the Metadata tab.
- All the Columns are retrieved from the selected table name.
- You can change the Alias name against each column.
- The Native DataType is displayed for each Column.
- The Generic DataType is auto proposed by the tool where you change the Generic DataType from the drop-down list that matches your requirement.
Note: Alias should start with alphabet/underscore(_)/dollar ($). Spaces and other special characters are not allowed.
- Click the Save button to save the Dataset.
- Click the Previous button to view the Details tab.
- A Confirm popup window is displayed with Cancel, Save, and Save & Go to dataset list.
- Save: Dataset is saved.
- Save & Go to dataset list: Dataset is saved and updated in the Dataset list.
- Cancel: The Confirm pop-up window is closed.
- A Success ‘Dataset saved successfully’ message appears on the top of the page when you click the Save button.
- A Success ‘Dataset updated successfully’ message appears on the top of the page when you click the Save & Go to dataset list button.
- Click the Save Dataset option to save the dataset again if there are any modifications to the previously created dataset.
- Now, navigate to the hamburger menu and click Analytics Hub.
- The analytics page is displayed with all Project names.
- Click the Project Name where the Dataset is created.
- Click the Datasets asset.
- The newly saved Dataset is displayed in the Datasets asset list.
